The traditional historic relations between Kerkrade, Herzogenrath and Mayschoβ (in the Ahr valley) have not only been well documented in historic texts but epitomised in a vineyard too. This vineyard is located on slopes close to the abbey of Rolduc and is the initiative of the Eurode 2000+ foundation, with the support of the Catharina Gilde.

 The old track called “’s Hertogenrodeweg” between Rolduc Abbey and the castle at Burg Rode, which had been long forgotten and overgrown, has now been given a new lease of life. This thoroughfare will form a link between the Baalsbrugger watermill and Rolduc abbey. In turn, this network of paths will form the heart of a future Eurodepark. In this way, the historic Eurode triangle will be given a visual connection, mirroring the traditional relationships between the nobility, the clergy and the citizen.
